The prototype went through 9 revisions. Since no one on the team specializes in 3A, JT collected data from scratch and repeated testing until they were satisfied with the results, and brought it to market without regard to cost.
The trend in 3A is obviously for slimmer models, and Velvety comes in just under 43mm, but the diameter is a little larger than a standard full-size 3A model. Although its name sounds soft, Velvety is made of A300, which is one of the strongest aluminum alloys, to protect it from the inevitable collisions during practice. As with all their models, JT has really done their homework to craft a fantastic yo-yo.
