The Orbitron 5000
SPYY - The Orbitron 5000
This wide and round full metal yo-yo has a resounding presence!
This yo-yo made an appearence at the 2012 world yo-yo contest, prereleased to contestants only, and due to popular demand, a small run of them has now been released to the general public. SPYY's theme this time around was to create a yo-yo that was anything but ordinary, and they've succeeded with the Orbitron 5000.
The body is quite wide, and the round shape is a throwback to the old school yo-yos. It has a nice, low edge, but doesn't try as hard to keep the string away from the body. Instead, the string becomes an important element in controlling the tilt of the yo-yo during play. With such a sweet throw and a novel concept, it's a shame that SPYY made such a limited run of these!
