SuperStar (Old Ver.)
YoYoFactory - SuperStar (Old Ver.)
The SuperStar reintroduces a new standard in body size and shape, perfect for developing new tricks.
This is the yo-yo used by 2008 1A World Champion John Ando and 2009 3A Champion Kentaro Kimura. With the hubstacks, it weighs in at 68 grams, a little on the heavy side. That said, the body is also on the larger size, about the same size as a yoyorecreation Sleipnir. The yo-yo comes in splash and acid wash variations, another reason for its popularity. The larger body type didn't receive much support before, but it opens the doors for a whole new array of tricks. Of course, its crazy stability is great for the usual tricks as well. YoYoFactory took the H-profile and pushed it even further, creating a sensation that is sure to please fans of the traditional shape. The hubstacks ensure that the Superstar is a yo-yo for all occasions and styles of play.
The acid wash colors are gorgeous; the turquoise one brings to mind the bottom of the ocean. Please note that the blue/green variation doesn't have the interior grooves (please see the photos). As is the nature of acid wash, no two yo-yos are identical.
The SuperStar has been especially popular in YoYoFactory's lineup, and used widely at all levels of competition. In 2012, the Supernova has been "Re-Launched," moving its production from America to China. Aside from some very minor adjustments in weight, size and shape, the Supernova's basic specs remain unchanged.
Also, the Re-Launch version's body material has changed from 7075 Aluminum to 6061 Aluminum, maintaining a high quality, durable yo-yo with a lower price.
Comes with a YYF Multitool, 2x spare CBC Pads and a spare Flat Bearing (NOT SPEC bearing)
