Mgska is Turning Point's first Magnesium-bodied yo-yo, made for REWIND's Shibuya store manager, Shingo "Terry" Terada!
Based on the new Majiska, this is Turning Point's first foray into magnesium-bodied yo-yos. Although it's technically made of metal, it feels unlike any other normal metal yo-yo. The reason for that is the relative density of magnesium.
While the relative weight of polycarbonate, the most common plastic used to make yo-yos, is 1.2, it's 2.7 for 6061 aluminum, which is the most common alloy for metal yo-yos. For magnesium, it's a mere 1.7, meaning a magnesium yo-yo of the same size is much closer in weight to a plastic model than an aluminum throw with the exact same specs!
But not just any plastic yo-yo, we're talking about the Terry signature, the pinnacle of plastic throws, the plastic fantastic that has an enchanting softness that is unlike anything you've thrown before.
Terry asked Turning Point's owner, Kentaro Kimura, to preserve the general shape and design of the Majiska, but also turn it into the world's greatest magnesium-bodied yo-yo. A seemingly simple request, but a remarkably tall order for even the most experienced yo-yo makers, whether they've tried their hand with magnesium or not!

*This is the tempered/baked paint version. Although it has a protective coating, this material will corrode easily, so we recommend wiping it with a dry cloth after use.
