The HiDRA is iYoYo's ideal answer to the "step up from beginner yo-yos" question. The HiDRA has a strong spin that is completely different from plastic yo-yos, which are the standard for beginner models. This is the true appeal of full metal yo-yos. The Hydra has a large bump on the periphery of the response pad, and a deep concave shape in the center. This reduces the contact area of the string during tricks, reducing sleep loss and resulting in a longer-lasting stable sleep.
The new model will be renewed in 2023. This is the prototype. It is wider, and the success rate of tricks in which the yo-yo is placed on the string has increased dramatically. The ease of movement has also been emphasized, making it easier to move the yo-yo smoothly.
