The Freehand ONE AL follows in the footsteps of the original Freehands, infused with the essence of modern yo-yos.
The Freehand ONE AL takes up the mantle of Duncan's original flagship butterfly yo-yo, the Freehand 1, while also weaving in the modern trends of yo-yo design into the mix. A full metal yo-yo but still maintaining the same body shape and size as the original Freehand, and even including classic-shaped aluminum side caps. That unforgettable playfeel of the original FH is maintained, but the upgrade to a size C bearing gives a smoother spin to the Freehand ONE AL.
If you really want to bridge the gap between old and new, you can swap the bearing out for a size C- bearing, changing the axle to an M4x8mm model, and adding a few drops of Looping Oil will change your Freehand ONE AL to a tug-response setting, giving you the old school feeling with a whole new flavor.
Normal colors come with a Rapid Ball counterweight. The gold colorway comes with a "Cap" style counterweight.
*Although the maker says that it is possible to replace the side caps, it's important to note that this construction is much more tight than the plastic models, and is much riskier to perform this operation. We've found that it's quite difficult to do this, and we do not recommend trying this modification unless you really know what you're doing.
*This model has been designed to recreate the feeling of past Freehand models, and isn't particularly designed for modern styles of play. For more stable, long-sleeping modern metal yo-yos, we recommend checking out our list of affordable modern metal yo-yos.
