Atmos Projects - Cura

An old-school monometal infused with nostalgia and playfulness.

This is the second edition in the Artist Edition series, co-developed by Atmos Projects and top Korean player In Hyeok Choi.

Inspired by classic yo-yos from the mid-2000s, this model features specs that evoke that era. However, it's not just nostalgic! It fuses subtly rounded shapes inspired by other disciplines with the weight distribution expertise accumulated through modern times.

By creating multi-tiered bump shapes in the pad area and adjusting their height, a unique handling experience is achieved. This delivers a gentle, natural feel that differs from competition-oriented modern models. This design philosophy, influenced by masterpieces from the 2000s, embodies an attitude of enjoying yo-yoing purely, rather than chasing scores or rankings. Pursuing simplicity and nostalgia, this model occupies a distinctive position within Atmos Projects' lineup.

The name "Cura" refers to a figure in Roman mythology who formed the first human from clay, and in Latin means "care." In Hyeok Choi found commonality between the sensation of shaping clay in pottery, which he has taken an interest in, and the process of creating yo-yo tricks, expressing the value of crafting something carefully with patience and time.
