Even amongst the “speedy” players out there, Luis towers above the rest. He took home the Mexican 1A title in 2012, and now you can take home his own signature model, the Aviator.
Based on his old favorite, the Genesis, Aviator pushes the classic YYF design to new heights. As the speed of play increases, it becomes increasingly difficult for the player to track and control their yo-yo. Fast hands and even faster minds are necessary to follow complex speedy combos. As things get faster, sleep loss and missed mounts become even more obvious as they trip up the player and cause them to lose their pace. A large body makes it easier to hit tricks and keeps sleep loss at bay, but it can limit your ability to do certain tricks. A heavier yo-yo gives more spin, but too heavy and it takes a lot more work to get it up to speed. Lightness gives the yo-yo a lot of quick speed and control, but that spin doesn’t have a lot of power. To minimize the burden on the player, the Aviator was designed with an eye on the fine balance of size, weight and speed.
