It's an innovative system that separates the axle assembly from the body, making it a replaceable part that allows you to change both the playfeel and appearance by swapping parts. The first model to feature the Side Effect system was the 54, released in 2010, and as its name suggests, this 54 Gen2 is a refinement of that game-changing model.
True to its name, which comes from its 54mm diameter (the largest for OneDrop at the time), the current model retains the approximately 54mm diameter. While this is considered a smaller diameter by today's standards, it's a size range that has many fans due to its manageable size. Unlike the previous model's round body, this version features a step-straight shape that appears stretched horizontally from the round shape, achieving the wider body that's trending in modern designs.
A heavy brass Side Effect is also included. You can enjoy different feelings by switching out the Side Effects.
